At Crown House Dental Practice, we can help you enhance your smile and boost your confidence with teeth whitening treatments.

Teeth whitening treatments are one of the most popular and effective ways to transform a smile. Fast, effective, and easy to use, teeth whitening treatments can leave a smile looking whiter and brighter than ever, allowing you to smile with confidence again. Our teeth can become discoloured due to a variety of reasons, which can leave patients feeling self-conscious when they smile or have their photo taken. With teeth whitening, there’ll be no need to hide from the cameras anymore.

FAQs

Why are my teeth discoloured?
Ageing and genetics can lead to the teeth looking dull and more discoloured while diet and lifestyle choices can further contribute to and exacerbate a discoloured-looking smile. Smoking, red wine, coffee, tea, coloured drinks, and heavily coloured food can all stain and discolour the teeth for example.

How does teeth whitening work?
Teeth whitening treatments use a bleaching agent such as hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide to permeate the tooth enamel and break down the discoloured molecules found there. This leaves the teeth looking whiter and brighter than before.

What happens during the treatment?
At Crown House Dental Practice, we use home-based teeth whitening treatments so that our patients can achieve whiter smiles in the comfort of their own homes. These treatments are tray-based, so you’ll be measured and fitted for your trays here which will then be bespoke made for you off-site. Once they’re ready, you’ll wear them at home with a whitening gel either for an hour or two every day or overnight.

How long does the treatment take?
Most home-based teeth whitening treatments produce results within two weeks.

Can teeth whitening treatments damage the tooth enamel?
We only use dentist-approved teeth whitening products, which are perfectly safe to use and will not cause any damage to the tooth enamel.

Will the treatment be painful?
There shouldn’t be any pain involved with teeth whitening, although some patients do experience increased sensitivity.
